Commitment to Environmental Social Responsibility

In carrying out business activities, Pupuk Indonesia Group does not only think about profit, but also commits to create benefits for the environment (planet) and society (people). The implementation of Environmental Social Responsibility (CSR) activities is very important, so Pupuk Indonesia is committed to:

  1. Appropriately identify affected communities and diverse local stakeholders in the vicinity of the Company's operations;
  2. Pay special attention to vulnerable groups that may be significantly affected by company operations, including the poor, women, children, the elderly, and communities with limited access to basic services;
  3. Develop a comprehensive and context-appropriate local stakeholder engagement strategy, designed to ensure two-way communication between the company and its surrounding communities;
  4. Providing an accessible grievance and complaint resolution mechanism for local communities and stakeholders. The grievance mechanism can be accessed through various channels, such as a hotline available to the public.

This commitment is implemented by all employees and directly supervised by Pupuk Indonesia's President Director to ensure implementation in accordance with good corporate governance values and established sustainability standards.

The company sets 4 (four) target stakeholders in implementing CSR: environment, community, employees, and customers. In addition, internal stakeholders are also an important part of these targets, such as employees

Purpose of TJSL

Referring to the ISO 26000 quality standard, in general, the objectives of implementing the CSR program are to:

1. Related to Nature The Company strives to carry out activities to increase reforestation and create environmental conservation.
2. Related to Wellness The Company strives to carry out activities that can improve welfare, both internally and externally.
3. Related to Society The Company strives to carry out activities that have an impact on a better social life.
4. Related to the Economy The Company strives to carry out activities that can increase profits, so that in the end it can support the country's economy and help increase the economic index.

TJSL Methods & Programs

The method of implementing the CSR program is adapted to the conditions of each region, and is coordinated with relevant parties, especially the local government, as well as those directly involved. The method chosen in determining the target is by conducting social mapping, namely activities carried out in order to produce a picture of the social conditions of the community so that they can understand the social conditions of the community starting from habits, customs, values, norms and so on in a society that can be used as a basis for determining an effective and targeted program.

Overall, CSR activities carried out throughout 2016, include environmental conservation programs, programs in the field of employment, occupational health and safety, social and community development programs and other programs related to responsibility to consumers.
