Jakarta, September 30, 2026 – Transformation in the fertilizer industry extends beyond production to encompass fertilizer distribution, farmer services, industrial strengthening, and green business development. These changes are at the heart of the 2026 Pupuk Indonesia Media Awards (PIMA), a journalism competition once again organized by PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), this year under the theme “Transformation for National Food Self-Sufficiency.”

Through PIMA 2026, Pupuk Indonesia invites national and regional journalists to explore the stories behind this transformation, including how changes across the industry and its services can support farmers’ needs and strengthen Indonesia’s agricultural ecosystem.

Corporate Secretary of Pupuk Indonesia, Yehezkiel Adiperwira, said, “Transformation at Pupuk Indonesia spans the entire value chain, from strengthening the industry and governance and simplifying fertilizer distribution to developing services and assistance for farmers. We invite journalists to explore these stories from different perspectives so that the public can better understand how this transformation supports Indonesia’s efforts to achieve food self-sufficiency.”

To explore these stories, PIMA 2026 features three subthemes. The first, “Service Transformation: Delivering Fertilizer to Farmers Faster,” highlights improvements in distribution governance and digitalization, service innovation, and farmer assistance. Journalists may explore these developments from the perspective of farmers and their experiences in accessing fertilizers and related support services.

The second subtheme, “Business Transformation: Strengthening the Fertilizer Industry to Create Added Value,” provides an opportunity for journalists to examine how Pupuk Indonesia is strengthening the industry through efficiency, revitalization, innovation, supply chain improvements, and sustainability. These transformation initiatives form part of the company’s efforts to enhance the competitiveness of the national fertilizer industry while supporting the needs of the agricultural sector.

The third subtheme, “Green Transformation: Building the Future Through Downstream Development,” explores downstream development, diversification, and the expansion of green industries across Pupuk Indonesia Group. This subtheme covers the company’s efforts to create added value through industrial development while accelerating progress toward its decarbonization targets.

PIMA 2026 is open to journalists across five competition categories: Hard News Writing, Feature Writing, Photo Story, Television, and Radio. For the Radio category, eligible entries may include hard news, features, and talk shows. Entries may cover the activities of Pupuk Indonesia or its subsidiaries across their various operational areas, with reference to any of the three available subthemes.

Eligible entries will be evaluated by a panel of judges comprising senior journalists serving as Editors-in-Chief, as well as senior photographers or Heads of Photo Departments from national media organizations.

As a form of appreciation, Pupuk Indonesia is offering total prizes worth IDR 262.5 million across the five competition categories. Each category will have six winners: First Place will receive IDR 20 million, Second Place IDR 10 million, Third Place IDR 7.5 million, while three Merit Award winners will each receive IDR 5 million.

Submitted works must be published between October 1 and December 31, 2026. Further information regarding competition requirements and submission procedures is available via WhatsApp at 081396428707 (Vania) and 0882001855751 (Putri), or by email at mediaaward@pupuk-indonesia.com.
