BALI (18/10) – PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) continues its efforts to increase the availability of fertilizers for farmers, in this case, the non-subsidized or commercial fertilizers. One of the efforts is to open a commercial fertilizer kiosk with a target of developing 1,000 kiosks starting this year until 2023.

President Director of Pupuk Indonesia, Bakir Pasaman said that the addition of commercial fertilizer kiosks in the regions would expand market reach, get closer to farmers, as well as a means of education and information about the benefits of fertilizer. One of the commercial fertilizer kiosks that is ready to operate is located in Canggu Village, Badung Regency, Bali Province.

“This non-subsidized or commercial fertilizer kiosk can be used by farmers to meet their fertilizer needs. In principle, Pupuk Indonesia used to always cooperate with other people's stalls to sell commercial fertilizers. We don't want that now because we want to dominate distribution channels from factories to kiosks. So farmers can access kiosks whose goods or products are from Pupuk Indonesia," said Bakir when visiting the UD Tani Mandiri kiosk, Tuesday (18/10/2022).

Bakir explained that the development of 1,000 commercial fertilizer kiosks was also an answer to the problem for many farmers who still find it difficult to reach or buy Pupuk Indonesia's commercial fertilizer. Therefore, said Bakir, Pupuk Indonesia felt the need to expand the network of kiosks or outlets that specifically sell commercial or non-subsidized fertilizers. Not to mention that currently the subsidized fertilizer budget is limited based on Ministerial Decree No. 5 of 2022 the government has set a subsidized fertilizer quota of around 8.04 million tons.

Bakir further revealed that the operation of this non-subsidized fertilizer kiosk has the support of Minister Of State Owned Entreprise Erick Thohir as shareholders and stakeholders. "This means that the commercial program makes sit easier for farmers, because there are many complaints from farmers and we realize that the subsidy budget is limited, so we have to fulfill the shortage of subsidized fertilizers in the community with commercial or non-subsidized means," said Bakir.

Bakir assesses that Pupuk Indonesia's non-subsidized or commercial fertilizer kiosks will be present in strategic locations throughout Indonesia, especially agricultural centers. In this way, he hopes that the fertilizer needs of farmers can be met.

Besides the Kiosk in Canggu Village, Bali, a similar commercial fertilizer kiosk has also been built and is operating in Buleleng Regency. In addition, in Bali Province there are at least five partners who have proposed to open commercial fertilizer kiosks spread across Tabanan, Bangli and Buleleng Regencies.

Meanwhile, Director Of Marketing of Pupuk Indonesia, Gusrizal, said that the development of 1,000 commercial fertilizer kiosks was carried out by Pupuk Indonesia under a dealer owned dealer operated (DODO) partnership scheme. This scheme is offered to individuals and business entities that have complete retail sales business licenses.

The advantage of the Pupuk Indonesia commercial fertilizer kiosk is that it can provide guarantees which are an advantage or added value for partners. The guarantees referred to include the authenticity of fertilizer products, product quality assurance, and fertilizer availability guarantees.

Meanwhile, the requirements to become a Pupuk Indonesia commercial fertilizer kiosk partner are Indonesian Citizens (WNI) aged 21 years and over, having a KTP and NPWP, in the form of a business entity or individual, having a business identification number (NIB), adequate building area, up to capital or good finances.

"In addition, the location of the kiosk must also be strategic and has the potential to have a high demand for fertilizer," explained Gusrizal.
