JAKARTA – PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) signed a Cooperation Agreement with the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) regarding the Synergy of Prevention of Criminal Acts of Terrorism. This Cooperation Agreement was signed by the President Director of Pupuk Indonesia Bakir Pasaman and Secretary of State BNPT, Dedi Sambowo, which was witnessed by the Head of BNPT Boy Rafli Amar at the Ministry of BUMN, Monday (10/10).

 

Bakir Pasaman, as the President Director of Pupuk Indonesia said that the collaboration with BNPT was a follow-up to the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of BUMN and BNPT. "This is a follow-up from Pupuk Indonesia by signing a cooperation agreement with BNPT regarding the synergy of preventing terrorism in the Pupuk Indonesia Group," said Bakir.

 

Bakir views the signing of this cooperation agreement as very important for the Pupuk Indonesia Group. This is because Pupuk Indonesia has an ammonia and urea factory which holds the status of a national vital object (obvitnas). According to Bakir, the factory does not only produce strategic commodities, but its operations are also very sensitive and contain very high risks.

 

The purpose of signing this cooperation agreement is to increase the role of both BNPT and Pupuk Indonesia in accordance with their respective functions in the synergy of preventing criminal acts of terrorism. Creating a work environment and the behavior of Pupuk Indonesia Group personnel free from radical terrorism. Furthermore, the company obtains input and suggestions for the development of socialization methods and proper implementation in the prevention of criminal acts of terrorism.

"We certainly want to create a good working environment, far from terrorism, and without the forerunners of terrorism," Bakir explained.

 

To support this, Bakir asked BNPT staff to provide outreach related to the prevention of intolerance, radicalism and terrorism in the Pupuk Indonesia Group. Also through this collaboration, the company hopes that BNPT can provide input and suggestions, as well as organizing outreach to prevent criminal acts of terrorism so as to create a work environment and behavior that is free from radicalism and terrorism.

 

BNPT Head Boy Rafli Amar views the signing of the cooperation agreement with Pupuk Indonesia as closely related to BNPT's efforts to safeguard and protect state assets, in this case all factories and Pupuk Indonesia personnel from the threat of terrorism. He also welcomed the collaboration that was carried out today because there is a program that helps survivors.

 

"So we are very grateful because we have added strength from Pupuk Indonesia, hopefully this will become a new force, our new vitamin, is it possible that in your environment all of us can collaborate to protect the country and nation from the bad influence of terrorism ideology. On this occasion, Pupuk Indonesia through PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur has provided assistance in the form of implementing psychosocial support for children who are victims of criminal acts of terrorism in the East Kalimantan region. This support is a real form of Pupuk Indonesia Group in countering terrorism which also pays attention to the welfare of these children.

 

Boy explained that the majority of the BNPT's duties were to prevent intolerance, radicalism and terrorism. There are at least 5 strategies implemented by BNPT, first, the transformation of national insight. Second, the revitalization of Pancasila values. Third, the transformation of welfare development. Fourth, the transformation of moderation in religion. Fifth, the transformation of the nation's cultural roots.

Not only that, said Boy Rafli, BNPT has also been supported by 46 Ministries/Institutions (K/L) in eliminating criminal acts of terrorism radicalism. In addition, the BNPT is also carrying out a multi-party strategy or pentahelix which has been the country's strength in eradicating terrorism radicalism. The multistakeholder forces come from the government, society, academia, the media and the business world.
