Push for Redemption of Subsidized Fertilizer, Pupuk Indonesia Holds Joint Redemption Event in Central Lampung Pupuk Indonesia Invites Central Lampung Farmers to Redeem Subsidized Fertilizer

Central Lampung, May 14, 2025 – PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) held a Joint Redemption of Subsidized Fertilizer event along with a socialization of the upgraded digital system available in the i-Pubers application in Central Lampung Regency, Lampung on Wednesday, (14/5/2025). This joint event aimed to increase the absorption of subsidized fertilizers, ensure easier redemption processes, and maintain fertilizer prices according to the Highest Retail Price (HET). It also served as a follow-up to President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to enhance efficiency in fertilizer distribution to farmers.
“Tebus Bersama is not just a mass redemption program, but part of our effort to make subsidized fertilizers more accessible to farmers. One step is upgrading the i-Pubers system, which now enables kiosks to order fertilizer from distributors digitally, rather than manually or verbally,” said Ikdul Jumai, Senior Manager of Region 1B at Pupuk Indonesia, during the event held at the Terbanggi Besar Village Hall, Central Lampung, Lampung, on Wednesday (14/5/2025).
Ikdul explained that with this system, Pupuk Indonesia can monitor the entire distribution network in real-time, strengthening accountability and efficiency in the distribution of subsidized fertilizers. This innovation allows Pupuk Indonesia to track fertilizer distribution from warehouses at lines 1 and 2 all the way to farmers registered in the e-RDKK system.
The event was also attended by Jumali, Head of the Central Lampung Office of Food Security, Food Crops, and Horticulture; M. Ilham Setiawan Bahri, a member of the Indonesian Ombudsman; and other relevant stakeholders. During the event, Pupuk Indonesia conducted various educational activities involving farmers and official kiosks directly. Participants received assistance with the fertilizer redemption process, demonstrations of the i-Pubers app, technical Q&A sessions, and participated in a prize draw.
Central Lampung is one of five regions selected as a pilot location for the i-Pubers application upgrade. The first trial was conducted in Madiun, East Java, on May 9, 2025. Other planned pilot locations include Grobogan (Central Java), Gunung Kidul (Yogyakarta), and Sidenreng Rappang (South Sulawesi).
“We are also actively monitoring through our field teams, from sales managers to field staff. If there are any issues, we are very open to feedback and will promptly follow up on any input from farmers or kiosks,” said Ikdul.
Jumali, Head of the Central Lampung Office of Food Security, Food Crops, and Horticulture, expressed his support for the trial of the new i-Pubers feature and the Tebus Bersama program. He noted that digitalization of fertilizer distribution is a step forward in making the system more transparent and accountable.
“Each year, the fertilizer management system improves. Especially today, with the new i-Pubers features, the essence is enabling farmers to more easily access subsidized fertilizer in a transparent and accountable manner. With this system, I see the governance structure getting stronger, and we hope kiosks can serve farmers better,” said Jumali.
Meanwhile, Indonesian Ombudsman member M. Ilham Setiawan Bahri stated that Pupuk Indonesia’s fertilizer distribution outreach aligns with public service principles that prioritize accessibility for farmers.
“We at the Indonesian Ombudsman appreciate Pupuk Indonesia's efforts in organizing this activity. We believe that every new policy, such as the transformation of subsidized fertilizer distribution, requires massive and comprehensive socialization. Based on Pupuk Indonesia’s explanation, the supply chain process is now more streamlined, going directly from Pupuk Indonesia to the point of delivery—whether kiosks or farmer groups. This is a positive step toward improving farmer access to subsidized fertilizer,” said Ilham.
