Pupuk Indonesia Distributes Aid for Flood Victims in Bekasi

Bekasi, March 9, 2025 – PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) has distributed aid to flood victims in Bekasi, West Java, as part of its corporate social responsibility and an effort to alleviate the burden and fulfill the needs of the affected communities. The aid was directly delivered by Pupuk Indonesia’s Environmental and Social Responsibility (TJSL) team to the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB).

Pupuk Indonesia’s Corporate Secretary, Wijaya Laksana, stated that the company provided essential supplies, including food and other necessities that flood victims could utilize.

"First and foremost, we express our deepest sympathies for this flood disaster. As part of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Pupuk Indonesia is committed to easing the burden of the affected communities through this aid distribution," said Wijaya.

Wijaya explained that Pupuk Indonesia’s aid was distributed on March 8, 2025, and will be utilized in two flood-affected areas in Bekasi Regency, West Java. The assistance provided includes snacks, bottled water, hygiene kits, as well as necessities for children and the elderly.

"We hope that Pupuk Indonesia’s aid will be beneficial and help alleviate the burden of those affected by the floods in Bekasi. We also extend our gratitude to all parties who collaborated to ensure this assistance reaches those in genuine need," he added.

The aid provided by Pupuk Indonesia was warmly received by Toto, a resident of Pondok Gede Permai, Bekasi Regency. He expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you to Pupuk Indonesia for providing post-flood assistance to the people of Pondok Gede Permai. May this kindness be rewarded by the Almighty and bring abundant blessings, Aamiin," said Toto.

Since early March 2025, extreme rainfall has significantly impacted communities across Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi), submerging thousands of homes in floodwaters and forcing many families to evacuate, leaving behind their valuable belongings.

The flood disaster in Jabodetabek has drawn special attention from the government, with President Prabowo personally inspecting the conditions of the affected residents in Bekasi Regency, West Java.
