Jakarta, December 24, 2024 – PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) is set to begin distributing subsidized fertilizers starting January 1, 2025. This follows the signing of the Procurement and Distribution Agreement for Subsidized Fertilizers for the 2025 Fiscal Year between the Ministry of Agriculture and Pupuk Indonesia.

Tri Wahyudi Saleh, Marketing Director of Pupuk Indonesia, confirmed the company’s readiness to fulfill its role as a state-owned enterprise tasked with producing and distributing subsidized fertilizers.

“Pupuk Indonesia is ready to carry out this distribution task. Based on the coordination meeting in Bandung today, we were instructed to start distributing fertilizers to eligible recipients by January 1, 2025. Approximately 14.7 million farmers registered in the 2025 e-RDKK system have been identified, and we have made the necessary preparations,” Tri Wahyudi stated in Jakarta on Tuesday (24/12).

As of December 23, 2024, the company has distributed 7.25 million tons of subsidized fertilizers, achieving 100.5% of the government-mandated target. This includes 3.66 million tons of urea fertilizer, 3.49 million tons of NPK fertilizer, 42,706 tons of specialized NPK formulas, and 46,521 tons of organic fertilizer.

Regarding stock availability as of December 23, 2024, Pupuk Indonesia has prepared 1.47 million tons of fertilizer, comprising both subsidized and non-subsidized products. The subsidized fertilizer stock amounts to 1.04 million tons, including 546,758 tons of urea, 445,560 tons of NPK, 16,338 tons of specialized NPK formulas, and 35,658 tons of organic fertilizer. Meanwhile, non-subsidized fertilizer stock stands at 428,619 tons, consisting of 357,384 tons of urea and 71,235 tons of NPK.

“The total available stock nationwide is 1.4 million tons, with around 400,000 tons already distributed to distributors and kiosks. This ensures that distribution can commence smoothly on January 1. We hope farmers can take advantage of this opportunity as weather conditions are favorable for planting. With fertilizer availability secured, we aim to achieve food self-sufficiency as envisioned by the President,” Tri Wahyudi added.

Tri Wahyudi also emphasized that Pupuk Indonesia’s readiness to distribute subsidized fertilizers stems from strong support from the government, particularly the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, the Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, and oversight agencies such as the Ombudsman, Polri Task Force, Food Task Force, and the Fertilizer and Pesticide Supervisory Commission (KP3). Streamlined bureaucratic processes now allow registered farmers to redeem subsidized fertilizers starting January 1, 2025.

“We express our deepest gratitude to the government, especially the Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs and the Minister of Agriculture, for finalizing the necessary regulations. As a producer, we have ensured the availability of subsidized fertilizer stocks that registered farmers can easily redeem by presenting their ID cards through the i-Pubers app,” Tri Wahyudi concluded.

At the same event, Jekvy Hendra, Director of Fertilizers and Pesticides at the Ministry of Agriculture, highlighted efforts to accelerate the distribution of subsidized fertilizers. He confirmed that all Provincial Agriculture Office Heads have designated recipients down to the sub-district level and ensured the security of payment mechanisms for the subsidies.

“The allocation of subsidized fertilizers at the sub-district level has been finalized at 100% across all regions. Therefore, there are no more obstacles to distribution according to the e-RDKK. Pupuk Indonesia also guarantees availability in every region, and the subsidy payment mechanism complies with BPK recommendations,” Jekvy stated.
