Jakarta, June 17, 2024 – During the celebration of Eid al-Adha 1445 H, Pupuk Indonesia Group distributed 329 sacrificial animals to benefit 275,844 recipients across various regions in Indonesia. The handover was carried out symbolically by the President Director of PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), Rahmad Pribadi, to representatives of the recipients at the Pupuk Indonesia office in West Jakarta.

Rahmad stated that the distribution of sacrificial animals is part of the “Berkah Bersama Pupuk Indonesia” initiative, which is a segment of the company’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program. This activity is a routine agenda every Eid al-Adha and also a form of gratitude from the company for the community's support during Pupuk Indonesia Group’s operations.

“The most important principle of our existence as a company and as individuals is to bring blessings and benefits. Our presence must certainly provide benefits. The large number of sacrificial animals proves that the internalization of the value of benefit within Pupuk Indonesia Group is running well,” emphasized Rahmad.

The 329 sacrificial animals distributed were the result of collaboration between Pupuk Indonesia and its subsidiaries. A total of 188 cows and 141 goats were shared with beneficiaries around the operational areas of each subsidiary.

Subsidiaries contributing to the distribution include PT Petrokimia Gresik, which distributed 22 cows and 98 goats to beneficiaries in Gresik, Surabaya, Lamongan, and Jombang, including Pondok Pesantren Tebuireng, handed over directly by the President Director of Petrokimia Gresik, Dwi Satriyo Annurogo, on Wednesday (June 12, 2024).

Another holding member, PT Pupuk Kujang, distributed 16 cows and four goats in the Cikampek and Karawang areas; PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (Pupuk Kaltim) distributed 30 cows in Bontang, Balikpapan, and Papua; PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda distributed 23 cows and 2 goats in North Aceh; PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang distributed 74 cows and 33 goats in Palembang, Jakarta, Lampung, as well as some to beneficiaries around the Pusri representative offices in East Java, Central Java, Cilacap, and Yogyakarta. Meanwhile, Pupuk Indonesia itself distributed 18 cows to communities in Jakarta, Garut, Indramayu, and Bandung.

Subsidiaries in non-fertilizer sectors also participated in distributing sacrificial animals. Rekayasa Industri distributed three goats in Jakarta; Pupuk Indonesia Niaga distributed one cow and one goat in Jakarta. Pupuk Indonesia Logistik and Pupuk Indonesia Utilitas each distributed one cow in Tomang and Gresik, respectively. Lastly, the Pupuk Indonesia Employees' Wives Association (PIKA PI) Group also distributed two cows to beneficiaries in Jakarta.

"The number of beneficiaries has been calculated, and indeed there are more than 275,000. This is not a small number. I extend my thanks. All of this is purely the company’s contribution," said Rahmad.

Finally, he ensured that before being distributed to the community or beneficiaries, each sacrificial animal was checked by a veterinarian. The health of the sacrificial animals is one of the Islamic requirements that must be met for sacrificial animals, ensuring they are safe for consumption and provide positive health impacts to the community.
