Jakarta, April 29, 2024 - On the occasion of its 12th Anniversary, PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) along with its holding members simultaneously planted 8,000 tree seedlings in seven regions across Indonesia. The planting, under the theme "Pupuk Indonesia Green Harmony," was symbolically carried out simultaneously and in a hybrid manner on Sunday, April 29, 2024.

From Jakarta, Pupuk Indonesia planted 1,000 trees consisting of various plant species. The President Director of Pupuk Indonesia, Rahmad Pribadi, and the Chairperson of the Association of Wives of Pupuk Indonesia Employees (PIKA-PI) Group, Tata Rahmad Pribadi, along with their team, ceremonially planted avocado, matoa, kepel, menteng, and buni tree seedlings.

Rahmad conveyed that the government is striving to reduce CO2 gas emissions to preserve the Earth through various programs. One of them is instructing companies to commit to supporting the Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) program and Indonesia Net Zero Emission by 2060.

"Pupuk Indonesia also has a commitment to contribute to emission reduction and decarbonization through the Pupuk Indonesia Green Harmony program. This program aims to provide social, economic, and environmental impacts that can be directly felt by communities around the operational areas of the Pupuk Indonesia Group," said Rahmad.

The Pupuk Indonesia Green Harmony program, initiated by Pupuk Indonesia, aims to reduce CO2 emissions through the planting of various types of seedlings. Pupuk Indonesia collaborates with the Indonesian Good Seed Foundation (benihbaik.com) to plant 8,000 trees simultaneously in seven planting locations in the Pupuk Indonesia Group, including Jakarta (by Pupuk Indonesia), Gresik (Petrokimia Gresik and Pupuk Indonesia Utilitas), Cikampek (Pupuk Kujang), IKN and Bontang (Pupuk Kalimantan Timur), Lhokseumawe (Pupuk Iskandar Muda), and Palembang (Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang).

The types of trees planted are also diverse, including crystal guava, mango, avocado, cempedak, longan, petai, jengkol, kawista, matoa, rambutan, durian, elai, ihau, and langsat. Furthermore, there are Sumatran fan palms, red palms from Bangka, yellow and white frangipani, mangroves, and damar trees.

This activity is also a collaboration with the PIKA-PI Group, which is an important part of the large family of Pupuk Indonesia. In commemoration of the 8th anniversary of the PIKA-PI Group, the target for tree planting this time is 8,000 trees.

The Chairperson of the PIKA-PI Group, Tata Rahmad Pribadi, hopes that activities involving the wives of employees can build environmental awareness among every employee's family in the Pupuk Indonesia Group. Thus, the policies taken by husbands in the company always prioritize environmental sustainability.

"The environment is currently a global issue. We must be able to support the company's steps for environmental sustainability in order to increase the competitiveness of its products," said Tata.

Meanwhile, on the occasion of Pupuk Indonesia's 12th Anniversary, the theme "Building Sustainable Agricultural Self-Sufficiency" is adopted. This theme aligns with Pupuk Indonesia's commitment to advance as a leading force in producing quality fertilizers and achieving food self-sufficiency.

This anniversary celebration focuses on three main elements: environment, culture, and people. By integrating these three pillars, it is hoped that the activities held will provide comprehensive positive impacts, inspire and empower employees to actively engage in unique and meaningful experiences.

In addition to tree planting, this anniversary celebration is also enlivened by kite coloring, caping coloring, face painting, fun games, epic journey cards, magic shows, vegetable gardening workshops, and bubble shows.
