Bone, January 15, 2024 - PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) is boosting agricultural production in the South Sulawesi region. The company is fully prepared to ensure an adequate supply of fertilizer for farmers at the beginning of the 2024 planting season. In collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan), Pupuk Indonesia continues to enhance distribution, maintain fertilizer availability, and encourage farmers to purchase and redeem fertilizers earlier.

One of Pupuk Indonesia's efforts to improve agricultural productivity in South Sulawesi is to accelerate the distribution of subsidized fertilizers and facilitate farmers in purchasing non-subsidized fertilizers through the Fertilizer Bazaar program in Bone Regency on January 15 and Jeneponto on January 16. This activity, involving around 50,000 farmers and agricultural extension workers, is part of the Agricultural Extension and Farmer Guidance activities by the Ministry of Agriculture.

Tri revealed, "Our participation in this activity is a commitment by Pupuk Indonesia to fulfill the government's mandate and provide sustainable support to farmers. Together with Kementan, we believe that through the provision of adequate fertilizers, we can enhance productivity and the welfare of farmers in South Sulawesi. Through this effort, we aim to support the government's accelerated planting program, with the hope of making a significant contribution to increasing agricultural productivity and national food security."

Through the Fertilizer Bazaar, Pupuk Indonesia hopes that farmers can benefit not only from the availability of fertilizers but also from favorable pricing. Through this activity, Pupuk Indonesia aims to not only provide productivity and prosperity for farmers but also contribute to the achievement of national food security.

Pupuk Indonesia is also committed to adopting innovation and digital technology in fertilizer distribution management. The Distribution Planning and Control System (DPCS) and Retail Management System (RMS) serve as the technological foundation to ensure transparency and efficiency in every stage of distribution. Additionally, the Fertilizer Bazaar program, as part of Pupuk Indonesia's preparations for the planting season, is also executed to ensure that farmers obtain fertilizers according to their needs.

"We want to ensure that the distribution facilities for fertilizers in South Sulawesi are well-equipped. By adopting innovation and leveraging digital technology, we strengthen production and distribution capabilities efficiently and effectively across the region. We also emphasize the importance of collaboration with various parties to improve the smooth distribution of subsidized fertilizers to the right recipients," added Tri.

On the other hand, Pupuk Indonesia has provided comprehensive distribution facilities to support fertilizer distribution to farmers in South Sulawesi. In terms of distribution, Pupuk Indonesia has 42 Level III warehouses with a capacity of 292,251 tons, involving 53 distributors, and 1,101 official kiosk networks. To ensure effective supervision, the company has assigned 30 marketing personnel responsible for technical coordination with various stakeholders in the field.

Until the end of December 2023, a total of 535,597 tons of subsidized fertilizers have been distributed to registered farmers in South Sulawesi, including 331,540 tons of Urea, 192,990 tons of NPK Phonska, and 11,066 tons of NPK Cocoa. Nationally, a total of 6.18 million tons of subsidized fertilizers have been successfully distributed, consisting of 3.67 million tons of Urea, 2.51 million tons of NPK, and 37 thousand tons of Cocoa NPK Pelangi.

As of December 31, 2023, Pupuk Indonesia has successfully produced a total of 18.71 million tons, including 7.69 million tons of Urea, 3.06 million tons of NPK, 814 thousand tons of other fertilizers, and 7.13 million tons of non-fertilizers (ammonia, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, and others).

Not only focusing on subsidized fertilizer distribution, but Pupuk Indonesia and the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) have also designed the MAKMUR program. Through MAKMUR, Pupuk Indonesia creates a self-sufficient agricultural ecosystem that enhances agricultural productivity and farmer welfare through the use of non-subsidized fertilizers. This program not only involves fertilizer distribution but also emphasizes empowering farmers through intensive mentoring, access to capital, risk protection, and market guarantees.

Additionally, Pupuk Indonesia is currently promoting the Fertilizer Discount Extravaganza program, which will be available in 30 cities across Indonesia. This program aims to provide easy access for farmers to obtain affordable fertilizers.

"With the support of the government, we will maximize various efforts to facilitate obtaining fertilizers throughout Indonesia. Thus, the existence of this initiative reflects Pupuk Indonesia's commitment to creating a positive impact for farmers and the local community," concluded Tri.

It should be noted that this event was attended by the Minister of Agriculture, Amran Sulaiman, and top officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, Director of Marketing at Pupuk Indonesia, Tri Wahyudi Saleh, Acting Governor of South Sulawesi, Bahtiar Baharuddin, Acting Regent of Bone, Andi Islamuddin, Regent of Soppeng, Andi Kaswadi Razak, and Acting Regent of Sinjai, TR Fahsul Falah.
