PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) has successfully achieved the platinum ranking at the SNI Award 2023 event organized by the National Standardization Agency (BSN). This highest form of government recognition serves as evidence that Pupuk Indonesia's products are ready to compete in both global and international markets. The SNI Award enhances credibility in the eyes of consumers and stakeholders, strengthening the competitiveness of the products.

"Thank you very much; this is evidence of our commitment at Pupuk Indonesia Group in implementing the National Standardization (SNI). We express our gratitude and appreciation to BSN, and I dedicate this to all SNI Award participants and to the entire Pupuk Indonesia community," expressed Rahmad Pribadi, President Director of Pupuk Indonesia, after receiving the SNI Award 2023 at the Jakarta Convention Center on Thursday night (16/11/2023).

As the largest nitrogen-based fertilizer company in the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and North Africa regions, Rahmad stated that the SNI Award is a benchmark for a company's future development. "To improve our performance, we must adhere to the standards set by BSN, and this has greatly helped us during our 3-year transformation. Alhamdulillah, we have successfully become one of the top 10 companies globally in agrochemicals as a group," he added.

The SNI Award from BSN also has a positive impact on Pupuk Indonesia Group, as it enhances the image and trust of the public in the products and services offered by the company. Furthermore, this highest government award serves as a measure of organizational excellence and provides opportunities for improvement.

The SNI Award is recognition for organizations committed to enhancing the quality of products and services while meeting the requirements of the Indonesian National Standards (SNI). It is a prestigious award given to organizations or companies that consistently apply SNI to products and services with excellent and sustainable performance.

At the same event, the Head of BSN, Kukuh S. Achmad, stated that the SNI Award is part of the stimulus effort to encourage producers, consumers, and the community to appreciate quality aspects actively and participate in the development and use of SNI as a supply and demand market facilitator. The use of SNI, according to Kukuh, is mandatory for business and industry players amidst the slowdown in the global economy and the prices of leading commodities in the global market, which undoubtedly impacts the national economy.

"Facing these challenges is not easy; business and industry players are required to continually improve their competitiveness by enhancing the quality of products and services, one of which is through the application of SNI. The application of SNI is expected to strengthen the competitiveness of national business and industry players by implementing best practices for efficiency, improving the quality and safety of products, thus opening up new markets and opportunities to adopt new technologies to increase production volume," said Kukuh.

"In addition, the application of SNI will increase the company's value in the eyes of consumers because consumers believe that the production process, as well as the quality and services produced, can be consistent," he added.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, appreciates the companies, business players, and industries that have consistently implemented SNI. The application of quality aspects through SNI can address future challenges according to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), including economic, technological, demographic, and environmental factors. He hopes that the 18th SNI Award event can increase public understanding of product quality and safety.

"The government's appreciation for businesses that have implemented SNI and produced superior products, and the government through BSN awards the SNI Award. It is hoped that producers, consumers, and the public will appreciate the quality aspects, and the winners become role models so that the application of SNI can be widespread," concluded Airlangga.

At the SNI Award 2023 event, BSN also awarded PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur, a subsidiary of Pupuk Indonesia, with a platinum ranking, PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang with a gold ranking, PT Pupuk Kujang Cikampek with a gold ranking, and PT Petrokimia Gresik with a silver ranking.
