PALEMBANG (18/8) - Srikandi PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), Tina T. Kemala Intan invites students to contribute to the country by preparing themselves as digital talents. This was conveyed by Tina in the "Srikandi BUMN Goes to Campus" program at Sriwijaya University (Unsri), Palembang, Tuesday (15/8).

Tina, who is the Chairperson of Srikandi BUMN as well as the HR Director of Pupuk Indonesia, said that BUMN opens opportunities for anyone with competence to contribute to the country by having a career in the State Owned Enterprise. Meanwhile, the important talents currently and in the future needed by SOEs are digital talents.

"We came here to help prepare students while on this campus when they graduate, they will not only become employees, but also leaders in a company," she said.

In 2024, she added, all SOEs in Indonesia need 200,000 digital talents. The hope is that this digital talent will be able to bring SOEs to compete in the midst of technological transformation, and be prepared to support Indonesia as the world's number four economic powerhouse which is predicted in 2045. The role of SOEs is expected to be a catalyst for economic growth to welcome Indonesia Gold.

"Today's younger generation must have good technology, digitalization and English skills to support future jobs," she explained.

In front of hundreds of Unsri students, Tina also explained regarding the Young BUMN program which opens up opportunities for anyone to become a leader in BUMN. This opportunity must be prepared by the nation's young generation to improve competence so that they can become leaders of SOEs in the future.

"By discussing with the younger generation, we will get different solutions so that the company can run fast. Pupuk Indonesia currently has a team to create new businesses to increase revenue for the company. And the members are all young people," said Tina.

Finally, she also said that currently the Ministry of SOEs is opening opportunities for women to become company leaders. Minister of SOEs of the Republic of Indonesia, Erick Thohir challenged Srikandi BUMN to fill 25 percent of the board of directors positions in BUMN, because many changes were also driven by women.

"At Pupuk Indonesia, the total number of female employees is around eleven percent. Thank God, we can meet the target of 15 percent female leaders," she said.

According to Tina, this is not just equality. Companies that have more female leaders experience an increase in performance of between 30 and 50 percent.

“This must open the students' point of view, we cannot think exclusively. We have to respect diversity," she said.

Meanwhile, the Chancellor of the Unsri Palembang, Anis Saggaff in his remarks appreciated the collaboration between Pupuk Indonesia and Unsri. Pupuk Indonesia through Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang as a holding member with Unsri has collaborated a lot, starting from the education sector, such as apprenticeships and marine activities related to concern for the people of Palembang.

"We hope that BUMN can continue to progress, so that concern for the world of education will also increase. Activities like this (Srikandi BUMN Goes to Campus) can be sustainable," said Anis Saggaff. "We also hope that Unsri students will be able to contribute to the country by having careers in BUMN," he concluded.
