PADANG - PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) continues to expand partnership opportunities for the Pe-i Shop commercial kiosk partnership to the community in West Sumatra. This was carried out in conjunction with the XVI National Week (Penas) for Farmers and Fishermen on 10-15 June 2023 in the Sutan Sjahrir Air Base Area, Padang City.

Pupuk Indonesia Commercial Kiosk Senior Project Manager (SPM), Olyvia Jilly, said that Toko Pe-I is a partnership program involving micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The main objective of Pe-I Stores is to get closer to Pupuk Indonesia Group's loyal customers by involving the participation of MSMEs (individuals or business entities) so that they can grow and develop with Pupuk Indonesia.

"Moreover, we see that West Sumatra has great potential, and is one of the most important agricultural center provinces on the island of Sumatra," explained Olyvia.

Until now, there are around 16 MSMEs in West Sumatra who are interested in becoming potential Pe-I Shop partners. As for nationally, Pupuk Indonesia already has Pe-I Shop partners in various regions. Meanwhile, the development of Toko Pe-I commercial kiosks is targeted to reach 1,000 kiosks throughout Indonesia.

Apart from increasing the supply of non-subsidized fertilizers, continued Olyvia, the presence of Pe-I Stores in West Sumatra is also part of the company's efforts to foster MSME players. The presence of Pe-I Stores also has the opportunity to create jobs for the local community.

"Therefore, through Penas Farmers and Fishermen, we introduce them more broadly to MSME players in West Sumatra to want to partner with us and increase their business capacity," said Olyvia.

Olyvia further stated that the development of Pe-I Stores was also in line with the direction of the Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir to encourage the existence of MSMEs in Indonesia. Because MSMEs are the spearhead and foundation of the national economy which has proven successful in surviving amid economic instability due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Every Pe-I Shop partner, he continued, will receive assistance in carrying out business processes such as providing education and assistance from agronomists provided by Pupuk Indonesia so that every farmer who buys non-subsidized products at the Pe-I Shop feels helped and can easily meet their needs.

The Pe-i Store Partnership can be carried out individually or as a business entity that has complete retail sales business licenses. The Pe-i Shop partnership scheme is Dealer Owned Dealer Operated (DODO) or owned and operated by the owner.

In addition, other requirements needed to become a Pe-i Shop partner are Indonesian Citizens (WNI) who already have an ID card and NPWP, have a business identification number (NIB), the shape of a building with an adequate area, up to good capital or finances .

The advantage of being a Pe-I Store Partner is being able to provide guarantees that are an advantage or added value for partners. The guarantees referred to include the authenticity of fertilizer products, product quality assurance, fertilizer availability guarantees, and several promotional activities that have an impact on product sales.
