PATI – In order to meet the fertilizer needs of farmers, PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) has improved the reliability of distribution facilities and infrastructure. One form of the program is the upgrading & branding program for warehousing facilities both in Line II and Line III Warehouses.

VP of Sarana Prasarana Distribusi Pupuk Indonesia, Boycke Garda Aria said that the Company carried out an upgrading & branding program at 2 warehouse locations in 2022 and 2 warehouse locations in 2023. In 2022, upgrading & branding programs have been carried out in 2 locations in Central Java, namely Pusri Pati Warehouse and Indonesian Fertilizer Warehouse in Nganjuk. Meanwhile, for 2023, it will be carried out in 2 warehouses located in the Fertilizer Bagging Unit (UPP Semarang) and a non-subsidized fertilizer warehouse in Dumai, Riau.

"The upgrading & branding program is carried out as a form of Pupuk Indonesia's readiness to receive an increase in the allocation of subsidized fertilizers from the government, especially related to the need for additional warehouse capacity, maintaining product quality, maintaining company assets, and improving service quality in distributing subsidized fertilizers," said Boycke, Thursday (16/3/2023).

Increasing the reliability of distribution facilities and infrastructure through upgrading & branding is an effort by Pupuk Indonesia in increasing customer awareness. This is because fertilizer warehouses are branded so that the community, especially farmers, can know the existence of line III fertilizer warehouses (district level).

The Pusri Pati warehouse was built in 1976 with a capacity of around 5,000 tons. Through the upgrading & branding program, the current warehouse capacity is 6,500 tons or an increase of around 1,500 tons. This line III warehouse receives subsidized fertilizer supply from PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang (PSP) which is a subsidiary of Pupuk Indonesia.

Boycke said that currently Pupuk Indonesia has prepared subsidized fertilizer stocks for the needs of Pati Regency of 4,389 tons as of March 15, 2023 or has met the needs for the next three weeks. The details, urea amounted to 1,926 tons and NPK amounted to 2,463 tons.

The subsidized fertilizer allocation for Pati Regency for one year is set at 68,626 tons consisting of 42,626 tons of urea fertilizer and 26,000 tons of NPK fertilizer. Meanwhile, the subsidized fertilizer allocation for Central Java Province is set at 1,152,841 tons, consisting of 732,742 tons of urea and 429,099 tons of NPK.

As of March 15, 2023, Pupuk Indonesia has distributed subsidized fertilizers of 17,116 tons, consisting of urea of 10,481 tons (73%) from the allocation of 14,300 tons and NPK of 6,636 tons (128%) from the allocation of 5,200 tons. Meanwhile, the realization of distribution in Central Java was recorded to have reached 237,353 tons consisting of urea of 144,270 tons (75%) from the allocation of 191,904 tons and NPK of 93,083 tons (88%) from the allocation of 105,268 tons.

Furthermore, Boycke said that the upgrading & branding program will continue by Pupuk Indonesia to improve the reliability of warehouse facilities and infrastructure. In 2023, an upgrading & branding program has been prepared to be carried out at GPP Klaten. As for 2024, the Company plans the program to be implemented in 2 locations in Central Java, namely, GPP Purworejo, and GPP Magelang.
