PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), through its Regional 1A Sales Support team, is collaborating with the Karo District Prosecutor’s Office to raise awareness of the latest regulations governing subsidized fertilizer distribution.

“A new technical guideline, Technical Guideline No. 33, was issued on July 1, 2026, and officially came into effect on September 1, 2026. This outreach initiative aims to clarify and reinforce the procedures for distributing subsidized fertilizers to ensure smooth and orderly implementation in the field. That is why we have invited representatives from the Karo District Prosecutor’s Office to participate in today’s event,” said Ikdul Jumai, Senior Manager of Regional 1A Sales at PT Pupuk Indonesia, on Thursday (October 22, 2026).

According to Ikdul, the involvement of the Karo District Prosecutor’s Office is expected to help align stakeholders’ understanding of Technical Guideline No. 33, particularly regarding provisions that have been interpreted differently, including fertilizer redemption outside the designated planting season.

“There have been differing interpretations of several provisions. Therefore, to establish a common understanding, we organized this outreach session involving all relevant stakeholders, including fertilizer retailers (PPTS), Distribution Business Operators (PUD), the Agriculture Office, and the Karo Working Team,” Ikdul explained.

He added that the initiative aims to ensure that all stakeholders involved in subsidized fertilizer distribution fully understand and comply with the applicable regulations, as subsidized fertilizers are commodities subject to government oversight.

“All parties must comply with and prioritize the regulations that have been established. If a violation occurs, the party responsible will be held accountable for the consequences of that violation,” he emphasized.

Meanwhile, Head of the Karo District Prosecutor’s Office, Edmond Novvery Purba, reaffirmed his office’s commitment to preventing irregularities in subsidized fertilizer distribution, including through direct monitoring at fertilizer retail outlets.

“One of the most important requirements is that subsidized fertilizer distribution must comply with the Definitive Plan for Group Needs (RDKK). Therefore, we will conduct direct field inspections, including verifying the relevant farmer groups,” Edmond said.
