Jakarta, April 17, 2025 – Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman praised PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) for its effective distribution of subsidized fertilizer across the country during a surprise inspection at the company’s headquarters in Jakarta on Wednesday (16/4).

Fresh from an official trip to Jordan with President Prabowo, Minister Amran wasted no time in visiting Pupuk Indonesia to ensure fertilizer availability remains stable. “I just arrived from Jordan and came straight here to check on national food and fertilizer security. I’m grateful and deeply appreciate PIHC’s outstanding performance,” he said.

The minister emphasized that fertilizer distribution is a key part of the government’s strategy to achieve food self-sufficiency. “Pupuk Indonesia plays a crucial role in realizing President Prabowo’s vision of a resilient and sovereign food system. We must act swiftly and serve the people wholeheartedly,” Amran added.

He stressed the importance of equal and sustainable access to fertilizer for farmers, calling PIHC’s efforts a strong foundation for national agriculture. “We can’t operate at a normal pace—we need to move fast. I monitor this daily, and under pressure, PIHC continues to deliver impressive results,” he said.

Responding to the minister’s visit, Pupuk Indonesia President Director Rahmad Pribadi welcomed the government’s support, which has helped streamline the distribution process. He pointed to Presidential Regulation No. 6/2025 on Subsidized Fertilizer Governance as a key enabler.

“Our thanks go to the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of SOEs, and the Coordinating Ministry for Food for their support and guidance. Their collaboration made it possible for many registered farmers to redeem subsidized fertilizer as early as January 1,” Rahmad stated.

He added that despite this progress, Pupuk Indonesia remains focused on future challenges, particularly the volatility of raw material prices. “We’re committed to reinforcing our role as a pillar of national food security,” he concluded.
