Demak, March 19, 2025 – PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), through the "Sobat Aksi Ramadan" program, carried out a community service activity by cleaning dormitories and schools at Roudlotul Muta'allimin Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) in Demak Regency, Central Java, on Tuesday (18/3/2025). As part of this initiative, Pupuk Indonesia also donated various cleaning equipment and basic food supplies.

The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) at Pupuk Indonesia, Junianto Simaremare, stated that the Sobat Aksi Ramadan program is a reflection of the company's commitment to social responsibility and an effort to foster closer ties with the community. Initiated by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) of the Republic of Indonesia, this program embodies a tangible movement of concern for the people, embracing the spirit of mutual cooperation (gotong royong) to create a positive impact on the surrounding environment, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

"We were entrusted by the Ministry of BUMN to carry out social initiatives, particularly in locations where we have previously collaborated. Through this program, we aim to be present together, working hand in hand at this Islamic boarding school," said Junianto.

He explained that the Sobat Aksi Ramadan activity at Ponpes Roudlotul Muta'allimin not only involved volunteers from Pupuk Indonesia—consisting of young employees from both Jakarta and the Central Java representative office in Semarang—but also included participation from students (santri) and school administrators, fostering a sense of togetherness.

Moreover, he added that the involvement of young employees in this initiative is part of an effort to enhance loyalty and enthusiasm among staff members, while also cultivating a stronger company culture by encouraging empathy and social awareness.

According to him, Ramadan is not only about worship but also about caring for others. As part of BUMN, Pupuk Indonesia conducted this Ramadan initiative to make dormitories and schools within the boarding school more comfortable.

Aside from the clean-up activities, Pupuk Indonesia also donated cleaning equipment to the boarding school, including vacuum cleaners, trash bins, brooms, mops, doormats, and other supplies to help maintain cleanliness within the school environment. Additionally, Pupuk Indonesia provided worship support equipment, such as microphones and portable speakers, as well as donated basic food supplies.

Finally, Junianto emphasized that this program aligns with the eighth Asta Cita mission of President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Prabowo Subianto, which focuses on promoting social harmony and fostering religious tolerance. This activity teaches the importance of sharing and helping one another.

Ponpes Roudlotul Muta'allimin currently accommodates hundreds of students, with 80 male students and 200 female students pursuing religious education there.

The caretaker of Ponpes Roudlotul Muta'allimin, Kholil, expressed his gratitude for the Sobat Aksi Ramadan program, stating that it has significantly benefited the students, making their learning and worship environment more comfortable.

"Cleanliness is part of faith. Let us purify our hearts by maintaining the cleanliness of our surroundings, just like this clean-up initiative," said Kholil briefly.
