Jakarta, February 24, 2025 – The President Director of PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) has been honored with the Main Category of the Green Leadership Award from the Ministry of Environment (KLH) at the 2024 PROPER Environmental Awards. During the event, Pupuk Indonesia Group, along with its five fertilizer subsidiaries, also achieved Gold PROPER Awards, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainable environmental management in all business processes.

The award was presented by Minister of Environment, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, to Pupuk Indonesia’s President Director, Rahmad Pribadi (third from the right), along with representatives from Pupuk Indonesia’s subsidiaries in Jakarta on Monday (24/2/2025). On this occasion, Pupuk Kalimantan Timur’s President Director, Budi Wahju Soesilo, also received the Green Leadership Madya Award.

The five subsidiaries of Pupuk Indonesia Group that received the Gold PROPER Awards are:

1. Petrokimia Gresik

2. Pupuk Kujang Cikampek

3. Pupuk Kalimantan Timur

4. Pupuk Iskandar Muda

5. Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang

"Alhamdulillah, in addition to Pupuk Indonesia securing five Gold PROPER Awards, I have also received the Main Award of the Green Leadership Awards. This means that Pupuk Indonesia Group can serve as an example for other companies striving for better environmental management. This extraordinary recognition comes with a shared responsibility to continuously improve environmental management performance," Rahmad stated.

He further explained that Pupuk Indonesia Group cannot operate without environmental impacts. However, this PROPER achievement demonstrates the company’s ongoing commitment to innovation and sustainability in environmental programs.

The Gold PROPER Award from the Ministry of Environment is not a first for Pupuk Indonesia Group. Rahmad highlighted that several subsidiaries have received similar awards in previous years.

Pupuk Kalimantan Timur has achieved Gold PROPER for eight consecutive years.

Petrokimia Gresik has maintained Gold PROPER for four consecutive years.

Pupuk Kujang Cikampek has earned the award for three consecutive years.

Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang is also receiving its third Gold PROPER Award.

"Alhamdulillah, all our plants have now received Gold PROPER. Hopefully, we can maintain our performance and continue protecting the environment," he added.

About PROPER

PROPER (Corporate Performance Rating Program) is an environmental assessment tool that evaluates corporate compliance, performance, and innovation in environmental management. The number of PROPER participants in 2024 increased significantly, from 3,694 companies in the previous year to 4,495 companies.

During the event, recognition was also given to 14 business leaders for Green Leadership, categorized as follows:

Six recipients of the Green Leadership Main Award

Eight recipients of the Green Leadership Madya Award

Additionally, awards were presented to 85 companies receiving Gold PROPER and 227 companies receiving Green PROPER.

Government’s Recognition and Expectations

The Minister of Environment expressed appreciation for the companies awarded the Gold PROPER and all recipients of the Green Leadership Awards for 2024, including Pupuk Indonesia Group. He emphasized that this recognition should serve as a motivation for companies to enhance their environmental management performance and innovation, setting an example for others.

"Recipients of PROPER and Green Leadership Awards must set an example in mobilizing all sectors of society toward better environmental management. Corporate initiatives to enhance environmental performance have now reached new heights," he concluded.
