Launch of the Tajumase Program with Bakti BUMN Volunteers, Pupuk Indonesia Encourages Increased Agricultural Productivity in Sabang

Sabang, February 21, 2025 – As part of its commitment to supporting food self-sufficiency, PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) launched the Tani Maju Makmur Sejahtera (Tajumase) program to enhance agricultural productivity in Gampong Batee Shoek, Sabang City, Banda Aceh, on Monday (December 17, 2025). The launch of the Tajumase program was a key agenda of the "Relawan Bakti BUMN Batch VII" program, where Pupuk Indonesia, in collaboration with Pupuk Iskandar Muda, served as the host.
Tina T. Kemala Intan, Director of Human Resources (HR) at Pupuk Indonesia, explained that Tajumase is a community empowerment program aimed at improving the local economy by optimizing agricultural potential, supporting agricultural regeneration through enhancing human resource quality, and fostering the development of other sectors that can contribute to the community's economy through the creation of an integrated ecosystem. Volunteers provided ongoing guidance to farmers in Gampong Batee Shoek Village, which is the largest agricultural area in Sabang.
“Tajumase is a sustainable community development initiative. We will provide continuous support, with the hope that the communities targeted by the program can also share the knowledge they gain with other villages, thereby expanding the positive impact,” said Tina.
In Gampong Batee Shoek Village, the Tajumase program was marked by joint planting and fertilization activities. A demonstration plot (demplot) program was implemented here, allowing farmers to gain knowledge on proper cultivation techniques, balanced fertilization, agricultural technology, and more.
In addition to Tajumase, the volunteers involved in the Relawan Bakti BUMN Batch VII program also carried out several beneficial initiatives for the people of Sabang. These included mangrove planting, coral reef conservation, free medical services, reproductive health education for teenagers, disaster response awareness, educational activities with students from special needs schools (SLB), and the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM).
The volunteers also assisted the Sabang community in promoting tourism, building tourism-supporting infrastructure, and organizing a mini bazaar. Additionally, digital training was provided to community groups, a collaborative effort between Pupuk Indonesia and Fordigi.
A total of 15 volunteers participated in the program, with 5 volunteers from the Pupuk Indonesia Group and 10 volunteers from PT Kilang Pertamina Balikpapan, Perum Perumnas, PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara, Tbk, Perum Perhutani, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero), Tbk, PT Bahana Pembinaan Usaha Indonesia (Persero), PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, and the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN).
The five volunteers from the Pupuk Indonesia Group were representatives from PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang, PT Petrokimia Gresik, PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur, and PT Pupuk Kujang.
The Relawan Bakti BUMN Batch VII program was conducted simultaneously across 10 locations from February 17 to 19, 2025.
Tina explained that Relawan Bakti BUMN is a collaborative program among state-owned enterprises (BUMN) aimed at implementing Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) for Indonesia. Initiated by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises of the Republic of Indonesia, the program has been running since 2021. The Relawan Bakti BUMN activities also serve as an implementation of the core values of BUMN, known as AKHLAK, for BUMN employees.
“Through this program, we hope that BUMN employees can make a real and meaningful contribution to society. The long-term goal is to improve the economy of communities receiving assistance and support across various fields,” Tina concluded.
