Jakarta, November 29, 2024 – PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) has successfully distributed 6.6 million tons of subsidized fertilizer to registered farmers across Indonesia as of late November 2024. This achievement follows the government's decision to increase the 2024 subsidized fertilizer allocation earlier this year. The announcement was made by Pupuk Indonesia's Marketing Director, Tri Wahyudi Saleh, in Jakarta on Friday, November 29, 2024.

"As of November 26, the realization of subsidized fertilizer distribution has reached 6.6 million tons, or 87.7 percent of our contract with the Ministry of Agriculture for 7.54 million tons," Tri stated.

Initially, the 2024 subsidized fertilizer allocation stood at 4.7 million tons. However, the government increased this figure to 9.5 million tons in April to boost agricultural productivity and support national food security efforts.

The decision was subsequently followed by regional governors, mayors, and regents issuing official decrees (Surat Keputusan or SK). These decrees, issued mid-year, caused a slight delay in fertilizer distribution as the process awaited official regional approvals.

The subsidized fertilizers distributed by Pupuk Indonesia include 3,361,040 tons of Urea, 3,210,755 tons of NPK, and 38,419 tons of Petroganik organic fertilizer. According to the addendum contract with the Ministry of Agriculture, the total allocations are 3,621,860 tons for Urea and 3,419,661 tons for NPK.

Tri expressed hope that the remaining allocation could be optimally utilized by farmers by the end of 2024 to maximize productivity during the current planting season. He highlighted the government’s efforts to simplify the process for farmers to access subsidized fertilizer. Registered farmers only need to visit official kiosks with their National ID (KTP). "The remaining allocation is available, and farmers can maximize its use during the October–March planting season, as fertilizer supplies are already in the field," Tri emphasized.

To qualify for subsidized fertilizer, farmers must meet criteria outlined in Minister of Agriculture Regulation No. 1 of 2024. These include membership in a farmer group, registration in the Agricultural Extension Management Information System (SIMLUHTAN), and cultivation of no more than two hectares of land. Additionally, subsidized fertilizer is limited to nine strategic commodities: rice, corn, soybeans, chili, shallots, garlic, coffee, sugarcane, and cocoa.

For eligible farmers not yet registered in the electronic Definitive Group Requirement Plan (e-RDKK), the government offers a solution. Farmers are encouraged to register through their local farmer groups (poktan), as the e-RDKK can be revised quarterly during the fiscal year.

"For farmers not listed as recipients of subsidized fertilizer due to regulatory constraints, Pupuk Indonesia has provided an alternative through non-subsidized fertilizers available at kiosks," Tri concluded.
