Banda Aceh, September 25, 2024 – As part of a strategic effort to build a more sustainable future for Indonesian agriculture, PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) once again held the 2024 MAKMUR Jamboree in Banda Aceh on September 24-25, 2024. This event not only provided a platform for young farmers to exchange ideas and hone their skills but also strengthened collaboration among various stakeholders in addressing national food security challenges.

The 2024 MAKMUR Jamboree successfully attracted over 500 participants, including young farmers, agricultural advisors, and students from various agricultural universities across Indonesia. Through this program, participants gained new insights and guidance, helping them adopt modern and environmentally-friendly farming practices. Pupuk Indonesia also collaborated with various stakeholders, such as the Ministry of Agriculture and non-governmental organizations, to build a sustainable agricultural ecosystem. This year, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam was chosen as the host due to its strategic agricultural potential.

In his speech, President Director of Pupuk Indonesia, Rahmad Pribadi, emphasized the crucial role of young farmers in achieving food security and the vision of a Golden Indonesia by 2045. "This MAKMUR Jamboree serves as a space for millennial farmers to collaborate, interact, and network. That’s why we’ve brought together farmers from many parts of Indonesia. Millennial farmers, the future belongs to you. In corporate terms, you are the main shareholders of Indonesia's golden future in 2045. As shareholders, you must strive to ensure our country reaches its goals. That’s why I welcome this program and encourage all of us to find ways to achieve food security for Indonesia," said Rahmad.

Pupuk Indonesia believes that farmer regeneration is key to the sustainability of the agricultural sector. Therefore, the 2024 MAKMUR Jamboree also involved the MAKMUR Cadets, a group of university students who provide farming guidance and agronomic services to farmers enrolled in the MAKMUR Program. When first launched in 2023, the MAKMUR Cadets program successfully recruited 76 students from the Agricultural Development Polytechnic (Polbangtan), under the Ministry of Agriculture, representing campuses in Bogor, Yogyakarta, Malang, Medan, and Gowa.

Since its launch in 2021, the MAKMUR program has empowered more than 130,233 farmers and covered 328,612 hectares of farmland. Tangible results include a 14 percent increase in rice productivity and a 38 percent rise in farmers' incomes. With this positive impact, Pupuk Indonesia is optimistic that the MAKMUR program will continue to contribute to the welfare of farmers and national food security.

"We always talk about the founding goals of this nation being to achieve prosperity for the people and social justice for all Indonesians. Social justice cannot be realized if food is insufficient. Therefore, we promote the MAKMUR program as a foundation for Indonesia to achieve social justice. I am confident that with the spirit of our youth, the millennial farmers, Indonesia will soon become self-sufficient in food and reach the Golden Indonesia 2045. Let us seize this momentum, especially as it coincides with National Farmers' Day. Let’s make Indonesia strong by achieving food self-sufficiency," Rahmad concluded.
