Commemorating National Press Day (HPN) 2024, Pupuk Indonesia Supports the Plant 100,000 Trees Movement
Jakarta, February 20, 2024 - In commemoration of National Press Day (HPN) 2024, PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) supports and participates in the Plant Hope Movement by distributing 100,000 tree seedlings in front of FX Mall Sudirman, Jakarta, on Sunday (2/18).
The General and Asset SVP of Pupuk Indonesia, Boycke Garda Aria, stated that the Plant Hope Movement is in line with the Company's sustainable program, emphasizing the aspects of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG).
"Pupuk Indonesia is committed to continually providing benefits and added value to the environment, one of which is through contributions to the Plant Hope Movement, which distributes 100,000 tree seedlings," said Boycke.
The event, themed "Plant Hope, Harvest Kindness Make the Earth Better," was opened by the Executive Director of the State-Owned Enterprises Foundation for Indonesia, Syafuan, and the Chairman of the Central PWI, Hendry Ch Bangun.
This event is a collaboration between Pupuk Indonesia and the State-Owned Enterprises Foundation, involving several other State-Owned Enterprises companies. Pupuk Indonesia contributed to distributing approximately 5,603 tree seedlings spread across several areas in DKI Jakarta.
The Chairman of the Central PWI, Hendry Ch Bangun, stated that the plant hope movement is an activity to harvest kindness in the future. His hope is that through this activity, the earth will become better.
PWI always cares about environmental issues. In every activity, PWI always carries out tree planting as a step in reducing increasingly concerning air pollution. According to Hendry, planting trees can help preserve and green the earth to maintain the collective health and the future generation of the nation. Trees have the natural ability to absorb pollutant gases such as nitrogen oxides, ozone, ammonia, and sulfur dioxide from the air, which are sources of human life.
"On PWI's 78th anniversary and National Press Day, we are proud to carry out this activity (Plant Hope). We started this activity two days ago in the City Forest Park by planting hardwood trees. We also distribute thousands of seedlings here (CFD) and trees so that they can be planted directly at the homes of mothers, fathers, and siblings who are present here," said Hendry.
