PI Niaga Greens Jakarta Through Mutual Cooperation Action to Bring Trees
PT Pupuk Indonesia Niaga, a member of the PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) group, is implementing the "Mutual Cooperation and Tree Generation" (GRBP) program by planting trees around its offices and employees' residences.
In this GRBP action, Pupuk Indonesia always provides fruit tree seeds, including mango, crystal guava, orange, durian and avocado, to PI Niaga and other group members in the Jabodetabek area.
The GRBP program was initiated by the Ministry of BUMN in line with the direction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr Joko Widodo, to green the Jakarta area in order to improve air quality.
Symbolically, the tree planting activity was carried out by the PI Niaga Board of Directors in the courtyard of the PI Niaga Head Office and witnessed by PI Niaga People, South Jakarta, Thursday (2/11/2023).
The President Director of PT Pupuk Indonesia Niaga, Hilman Taufik, said that PI Niaga supports the Mutual Cooperation and Tree Generation program by greening Jakarta through tree planting.
"We are committed to maintaining environmental sustainability and making a real contribution to overcoming the impacts of climate change, one of which is by planting trees as a form of our contribution to efforts to improve air quality in Jakarta," said Hilman.
Apart from carrying out the GRBP action, PI Niaga has previously provided perennial plant and flower seeds to residents of Kalibata Village, South Jakarta for reforestation in residential areas which are expected to absorb air pollution.
