JAKARTA – PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) won the 2023 Katadata Corporate Sustainability Awards (KCSA) as Governance Champion in the Chemicals Category. This award was given because the company was considered to have a good Sustainability Report and also easily accessible to the public.

"In carrying out its business activities, Pupuk Indonesia Group does not only think about profits but is also committed to creating sustainability for the environment," said the President Director of Pupuk Indonesia, Rahmad Pribadi.

Pupuk Indonesia has presented a Sustainability Report and can be accessed by the public via the Company's official website. This is the main assessment of the Katadata Corporate Sustainability Index (KCSI) giving awards to Pupuk Indonesia. In the Sustainability Report, Pupuk Indonesia has established a Strategy House which contains strategic pillars and focuses on consumer satisfaction, supported by research and innovation as well as operational and supply chain excellence, to fulfill food safety and also contribute to business continuity, nature conservation and social welfare.

In its assessment, KCSI noted several achievements and efforts of Pupuk Indonesia in the governance aspect, namely that it has implemented good governance or GCG by paying attention to the five basic principles of TARIF, namely transparency, accountability, accountability, independence and fairness, as well as the principles of ethical behavior and sustainability. Furthermore, in an effort to run a responsible business and implement best practices with national and international standards, the Company ensures that operational activities are well managed and professional and relevant to the latest developments.

Pupuk Indonesia also succeeded in obtaining an ISO certificate and a Gold PROPER assessment from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK). In implementing sustainability governance, the Company's leadership, including the Board of Commissioners and Directors, along with supporting organs provide support in planning and direct supervision regarding sustainable business. In fact, all Company Personnel are committed to implementing the Code of Ethics and Behavior through signing the annual Integrity Pact. The company also manages an Anti-Bribery Management System (SMAP), a Whistleblowing System (WBS), and a Compliance Management System (SMK) to prevent fraud and non-compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

KCSA 2023 was awarded directly to the Director of Indonesian Fertilizer Business Transformation, Panji Winanteya Ruky. This year, Katadata awarded the 2023 KCSA award to companies in seven sectors, namely Finance, Mining, Plantation, Food and Beverage, Transportation & Logistics, Materials Chemistry (Chemicals), and Energy (Energy).

KCSI's main assessment is based on the availability of data for each company from the latest Sustainability Report and can be accessed via the company website as of June 2023.

Companies prepare Sustainability Reports in accordance with Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards. Apart from that, it is also to fulfill the requirements of OJK Regulation no. 51/POJK.03/2017 concerning the Implementation of Sustainable Finance for Financial Services Institutions, Issuers and Public Companies and OJK Circular Letter No, 16/SEOJK.04/2021 concerning the Form and Content of Annual Reports of Issuers or Public Companies.
