PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) won two awards in the Kenduri Bagimu Negeri program which was held by Metro TV, Sunday (4/12/2022). This program gives appreciation to state-owned companies for their good performance and contribution to handling the Covid-19 pandemic.

SVP of Corporate Communications at Pupuk Indonesia, Wijaya Laksana, said that Pupuk Indonesia won an award for a special assignment during the Covid-19 pandemic. In this case, Pupuk Indonesia won an award in the category of Food Security and Special Contribution to the Health Sector.

"Pupuk Indonesia has consistently provided fertilizer to support the agricultural sector, and contributed to making the agricultural sector one of the sectors that continued to grow positively during the Covid-19 pandemic," explained Wijaya.

Wijaya further stated that Pupuk Indonesia will continue to improve its performance by continuing to expand its domestic and international market share. Pupuk Indonesia is committed to maintaining the availability of fertilizers, both subsidized and non-subsidized fertilizers.

Efforts to improve performance are also carried out with various programs, including the Agrosolution and Makmur programs to increase farmer productivity and income. Development of commercial kiosks to increase the availability of fertilizers. Strengthen research capabilities by establishing a research institute.

Apart from that, it is also developing various digitalizations, both digitalization in production and distribution. Among them is the development of a Distribution Planning & Control System (DPCS) to monitor fertilizer distribution in real time, to developing a retail management system (RMS) or REKAN digital kiosk application.

The company is also trying to secure a long-term supply of raw materials, including natural gas, phosphate and potassium. Starting from looking for alternative sources of raw materials to opening a representative office in Dubai to get supplies directly from world producers of raw materials for fertilizers.

To improve performance, Pupuk Indonesia also conducts product downstreaming and circular economy synergy with other industries. This includes developing industries such as Soda Ash, Ammonium Nitrate, Liquid CO2, and so on. At the same time reducing dependence on imports of these commodities.

The company also supports the government's decarbonization program through the development of blue ammonia and green ammonia products. These two products are more environmentally friendly and their demand will increase sharply, both as raw materials for fertilizers and clean energy.

Apart from supporting national food security and improving performance, Pupuk Indonesia also supports the health sector during the Covid-19 pandemic. In this case, Pupuk Indonesia and its subsidiaries provide various assistance such as medicines, personal protective equipment (PPE), face shields, safety boots, masks, hand sanitizers, disinfectants, and so on.

In fact, Pupuk Indonesia through its two subsidiaries, namely PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda (PIM) and PT Petrokimia Gresik, reactivated the Air Separation Plant (ASP) factory which can produce medical oxygen to supply various hospitals during the Covid-19 outbreak, the Delta variant in mid-2019. year 2021.

"In total for 2021, Pupuk Indonesia and its subsidiaries have distributed 666 tons of medical oxygen, consisting of 277 tons of liquid oxygen and 389.4 tons of bottling oxygen," explained Wijaya.
